On Tuesday, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas visited St. Elizabeth and lead an Akathist to the Theotokos. He was first received at the parish house where he consecrated a new tabernacle that had been donated by St. Nicholas in Barton, OH.
He was then received at the home of parishioners Boris and Evelyn Melnikoff, where the service was held. In addition to His Eminence, Fr. John Zboyovski from St. Joseph in Asheville, NC, Fr. Mark Tyson from the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bluefield, WV and Fr. Paul Stoll, pastor of St. Elizabeth assisted in the celebration. Pani Cindy and John Zboyovski from St. Joseph and Pani Judy Abel, wife of Fr. Paul also attended. Before the Akathist, His Eminence tonsured David Danko to the order of reader of the Orthodox Church. Then His Eminence oradined Readers Seraphim James Blomeley and Philip Jeff Floyd as Subdeacons. After the Akathist, His Eminence delivered a homily on the world today and how it contrasts with the beliefs and teachings of the Orthodox Church. After a long day, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas, Fr John and Pani Cindy and Fr. Mark returned to Asheville, NC.
